Meet our Ministry Staff
Drew Boe
Executive Director
Drew Boe has served as the Executive Director of USG since founding the ministry in May of 2013. His personal pursuit of a career in the sport industry started with his time as a student manager for the University of Minnesota Gopher's Football and Men's Basketball teams. While completing his undergraduate degree in Sports Management at the University of Minnesota from 2008-2010, Drew interned with the Arizona Cardinals and the San Diego, now Los Angeles, Chargers. These experiences led Drew to complete his Master's Degree at Virginia Tech while serving as a Graduate Assistant Equipment Manager for Virginia Tech Football. His first full-time position as an Equipment Manager was with the Auburn University Football team from 2013 to 2014. Drew resides in Minnetonka, MN with his wife Elisabeth and loves spending his free time with his family, staying active, serving in local homeless ministries, and has most recently become an avid pickleball player.
Noah Weiss
Director of Ministry
Noah has served as an Engagement Associate & Content Coordinator since May of 2021. In his role, he helps develop, engage, and recruit USG members as well as creating marketing content for the Uncommon Podcast, the USG blog, and USG's social media platforms. Prior to joining staff, Noah attended Butler University in Indianapolis, IN where he received a B.S in marketing at the Lacy School of Business, while also serving as a basketball manager for the Butler Bulldogs men's team. During this time, Noah served as a student leader for the Athletes in Action ministry in Indianapolis and interned with the Indianapolis Colts in the operations department. Noah enjoys running, watching the New England Patriots, and serving the Lord through the vehicle of sport.
Michael Carpenter
Senior Engagement Associate
Michael has served at USG since July 2018. He oversees professional development, strengths training, Academy coaching and the USG Engagement Team. He also served on USG's inaugural mission trip in 2014 to Mzuzu, Malawi. Prior to joining staff, Michael served four seasons as a student manager for the University of Virginia men’s basketball program from 2010-14 while receiving his B.S. in Politics: Foreign Affairs. Michael later made stops at D.C. United, Wake Forest University, Texas A&M University, and Liberty University, each in a variety of athletics development and community service roles. Michael also earned his M.Ed. with an emphasis in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration, from the University of Oklahoma in 2015. Michael enjoys spending quality time with friends, traveling the globe, watching his Indianapolis Colts, Virginia Cavaliers and Liverpool FC, trying local restaurants, and serving abroad through international missions. Michael resides in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Felicia McKenzie
Engagement Associate
Felicia has served as an Engagement Associate since June 2023 and helps to encourage, develop, and recruit USG Members. Prior to joining USG, Felicia finished college at North Central University in May 2023, earning the Outstanding Sports Management Graduate Award. She played sports competitively through sophomore year in college. She worked alongside many successful High School Athletic Directors throughout her years in college. She has been a youth leader for three years, mentoring and creating relationships with students to help them through various life transitions and challenges. Felicia loves being outside, playing board games, spending time with family, and playing sports for fun.
Karlie Smith
Engagement Associate & Marketing Coordinator
Engagement Associate & Marketing Coordinator with USG since 2025. In this role, she pursues the heart of Jesus and, through His leading, equips the saints for the work of ministry in the sports realm and beyond. Prior to USG, Karlie served as the Director of Digital Engagement & Social Promotion with the Coastal Athletic Association while freelancing as a sports industry broadcaster. Before that, she was an Operations Manager with Fox Sports, a Broadcaster with the SEC Digital Network, and a Production Assistant with Georgia Athletics. Also, Karlie was the interim Communications Director at Grace Athens Church in Athens, GA. Karlie earned a Bachelor's Degree in Communications at East Carolina University and played four years on the ECU softball team. She led team and conference-wide Bible studies after encountering Jesus and giving her life to Him. Thank you, God! Karlie's ambition is to know and love Jesus. She enjoys spending time at His feet, in prayer and intimate worship. Her favorite places are the beach, church, and the gym. She adores family time and is excited to join lives with her fiance, Rasheed Flowers.

Meet the Operations Team
Zach Shelley
Sr. Director of Marketing
and Operations
Zach joined Uncommon Sports Group® in June of 2020 and leads the Marketing and Operations Team. Zach has spent the last decade working in digital marketing, staff development, operations, and customer service. He is passionate about education, team-building, and problem-solving. Zach lives in Farmington, Minnesota with his wife, Nicole, and their Dog, Honey. They enjoy reading, camping, games, and traveling.
Kawar Paw
Digital Marketing Associate
Kawar joined Uncommon Sports Group® in February of 2023 as a Digital Marketing Associate. Prior to joining the team, Kawar worked as a Publication Designer, where he managed the design and execution of various magazines, along with handling digital marketing materials. He is passionate about problem-solving through visual communication. Kawar enjoys lifting, reading, and going for walks.
Zac Colburn
Director of Operations
Zac has been the Director of Operations at Uncommon Sports Group® since March 2021. Zac oversees Human Resources, Operations, Logistics, and Facilities. Prior to joining the Uncommon Sports Group® staff, Zac spent 12 years managing Operations and Logistics for a food manufacturing company based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. He has also provided contract logistical consulting in his spare time.  Zac resides in Minneapolis with his wife, Lisa, and their 2 children, Zoey and Dylan. He enjoys playing golf, fishing, and traveling the world with his family.
Josh Meyer
Director of Donor Relations
Josh has served in his role as a Director of Donor Relations since February of 2022 and helps lead our Clean Out For A Cause program as well as fostering relationships for our USG members. Before joining USG full-time, Josh served for three years as a member of the board. His resume includes stops at Grand Canyon University, ACS Athletics, Front Rush, BSN Sports and most recently Helmet Tracker. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh, Josh was a track and field athlete and also coached volleyball in Arizona. He enjoys being with his three amazing children, Parker, Addison and Reese and find time to travel with his wife Jenna. The Meyer's reside in Peoria, Arizona and find themselves frequenting Disney parks, riding their peloton and being with their large family in their free time.
